The Silicon Valley Treasury Management Association (SVTMA), founded in 1996, is a not-for-profit professional association dedicated to providing a forum for its members to keep abreast of new developments in the rapidly changing field of Treasury and Financial Management. Members represent a wide range of corporations, financial institutions, and service providers predominately located in Northern California. SVTMA is affiliated with the Association for Financial Professionals, based in Bethesda, Maryland.
The SVTMA conducts four luncheon meetings during the year, which are usually held on the third Wednesday of the months of January, March, July, and November in Santa Clara, California. At these meetings, guest speakers address timely, relevant treasury and finance topics. Recent topics have included Foreign Exchange Hedging and FAS 133 and Director & Officers Liability Insurance. These meetings also provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss current issues in their workplace.
An Executive Committee governs the SVTMA. The Committee includes a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Program Director. Officer positions are filled by volunteers who are elected by the membership annually.
